Who was Florence Nightingale
Florence Nightingale was known as The lady with the lamp.
In 1854 she took charge of nursing soldiers wounded in the Crimean War.
She ordered the cleaning of the filthy military hospital and organised proper nursing. The survival rate of the soldiers improved enormously.
Florence Nightingale is recognised as the founder of modern nursing.
Florence Nightingale lived from 1820 to 1910.
